Volleyball Posts 4-0 Day at Texas Tech Spring Tournament

Red Raiders take straight set wins over LCU, Angelo State, ACU and New Mexico.
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech volleyball began its spring slate on Saturday, earning four 2-0 victories in the second annual Texas Tech Spring Tournament at the United Supermarkets Arena.

Embarking on their third spring under head coach Tony Graystone, the Red Raiders started out with a 25-17, 25-16 win over Lubbock Christian University and a 25-14, 25-18 victory over Angelo State during the morning session.

Following an intermission, Tech returned to the court to top Abilene Christian 25-18, 25-18 before closing the day with a 25-9, 25-13 victory over New Mexico.

Three new faces saw playing time for the Red Raiders in Alex Kirby, Haley Killinger and Andrea Janss. Kirby and Killinger are early enrollees after signing with the program in November, while Janss suited up for the first time after redshirting as a freshman in 2017 due to injury.

The Red Raiders will continue their spring season on April 14 with a road trip to Angelo State. No match time has currently been set. Following the trip, Tech will play its third and final event of the spring on Saturday, April 21, in Plano, Texas, where the Red Raiders will face Tulsa at 1 p.m., and Baylor at 3 p.m., from Madfrog Volleyball Gym.
