Red Raiders earned runner-up honors in their last visit to Tulsa
TULSA, Okla. – The No. 12 Texas Tech Men's Golf team will begin postseason play on Monday at the Big 12 Championship, at Southern Hills Country Club, in Tulsa, Okla.
The tournament, which will be held April 23-25, has a 72-hole format, with the teams playing 36 holes on Monday, 18 on Tuesday and 18 in the final round on Wednesday. Five of the 10 teams in the field are ranked in the nation's top 15.
The Red Raiders have had success at Southern Hills before, taking second place at the 2015 Big 12 Championship. Southern Hills has also hosted six PGA Tour majors—three U.S. Opens and three PGA Championships.
Tech has seven top-three tournament finishes this season, and has earned top-three finishes in three of the last four Big 12 Championships.
"We have to play 90 holes in four days [including the practice round], but these guys are young," Tech head coach Greg Sands said. "I'm comfortable with everybody's game right now. No one looks like they're really struggling out here, so it's going to come down to who can hole some putts."
Tech, as the No. 4 seed, will be paired with third-seeded Baylor. The Red Raiders will tee off hole No. 10, beginning at 8:22 a.m. with Kyle Hogan. He will be followed by Adam Blomme, Sandy Scott, Ivan Ramirez and Hurly Long.
Golfstat will handle live scoring for the duration of the tournament. For more news and updates on Texas Tech Men's Golf, follow the team on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
