Women’s Track & Field Moves Up to No. 17

Lady Raiders jump eight spots in latest USTFCCCA ranking
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Women's Track & Field team moved up eight spots to No. 17 in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) outdoor national rankings. The men's team held on to the No. 2 spot in this week's poll.
This is the highest outdoor season ranking since the women's team was ranked No. 12 at the end of the 2015 season.
"I am so proud of our women continuing to climb up the rankings," Head Coach Wes Kittley said. "We are looking forward to the next few weeks and finishing out strong."
Junior Sara Limp placed third at the Michael Johnson Invitational with a wind-aided time of 23.22 in the 200m dash, giving the team a boost in the rankings.
On the men's side, Divine Oduduru broke a 14-year-old school record in the 100m with a time of 10.10. His time tops all NCAA athletes. Darien Tennon posted a wind-aided time of 13.84 in the 110 hurdles
The men's 4x400m relay team broke the Clyde Hart Track & Field Stadium record with a time of 3:02.82. They jump to fifth in the nation.
Charles Brown placed second in the triple jump with a wind-aided leap of 16.05m (52-8).

Texas Tech is set to host the Corky/Crofoot Shootout this Friday at the Fuller Track & Field Complex. Field events are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. with the javelin. Running events will start at 6 p.m. following a senior awards recognition at 5:40 p.m.
