LADY RAIDER HEADLINES
- Last season, the Lady Raiders completed the second-biggest turnaround of any Power Five team, doubling their previous year's win total to 14. In Wednesday's victory over Kansas, Texas Tech continued its impressive turnaround and surpassed that win total, getting win No. 15 in just 22 games.
Â
- Senior Brittany Brewer was named one of the top 10 centers in the country last week as she was selected as one of 10 midseason candidates for the Lisa Leslie Award, the The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced.
Â
- Brittany Brewer has a chance to break the program single-season blocks record this season. With 104 through 24 games, Brewer is just two away from surpassing Cisti Greenwalt for the program record. Against Baylor, Brewer became the second player in program history to reach 100 blocks in a single season.
Â
- While the Lady Raiders have been stacking wins this season, Lady Raider Nation has shown up to support the team as well. After ranking 33rd last season with an average of 3,563 fans per game, Texas Tech ranks 21st this season, getting almost 1,000 more fans per home contest.
Â
ABOUT THE LADY RAIDERS
The Lady Raiders look to bounce back from a couple of tough losses to West Virginia and No. 2 Baylor last week. Tech enters the weekend matinee with the Cyclones at 15-9 overall on the year, already having surpassed last season's win total.
Â
Second-year Lady Raider head coach Marlene Stollings boasts a deep team. Led by Brittany Brewer, who ranks second in the nation in blocks and is averaging a double-double, and 2019 Big 12 Freshman of the Year Chrislyn Carr, Texas Tech has already experienced plenty of success in 2020 which the team will look to build on over the final month of the season. The Lady Raiders finished the nonconference schedule undefeated for the first time in eight seasons at 11-0. Additionally, led by 29 points from Andrayah Adams, Tech picked up its first overtime win in four years last month, knocking off Big 12 foe Oklahoma.
Â
