LADY RAIDER QUICK HITS
- Texas Tech has held opponents under 40 percent shooting from the field in four-straight games after holding the Mountaineers to a 38.8 percent (26-of-67) mark last Wednesday. Over that stretch, the Lady Raiders have held opponents to 88-of-251 shooting on field goal attempts (35.1 percent). Prior to that four-game streak, Tech was holding its opponents to 40.2 percent shooting overall and 45.1 percent shooting in conference play.
Â
- With, 1,489 points for her career, Vivian Gray is only 11 points away from becoming one of 20 active DI players to register 1,500 career points. Perhaps more impressively, Gray has done so in only 76 games. If the senior reaches 1,500 on Saturday, she would be one of only two players --and the only Power Five player--on the list of players with 1,500 or more points to have played less than 100 games. At 19.6 points per game for her career, Gray is the NCAA Division I active leader in scoring average.
Â
- Lady Raider seniors Vivian Gray and Lexi Gordon have proven themselves as one of the top scoring tandems in the nation. Both rank in the top 10 of the Big 12 in scoring--one of two duos making the conference scoring top 10 list. Gray and Gordon are also two of the six players in the Big 12 who have recorded six or more 20-point games this season.
Â
THE SERIES
- The Lady Raiders and Longhorns will be meeting for the 106th time in the series history this weekend when the two collide in Austin.
- Texas Tech is 7-37 against the Longhorns in Austin and will be looking for their first win in the Frank Erwin Center since 2013.
- Tech will be looking for its first season sweep of the Longhorns in eight years.
- The Lady Raiders broke an eight-year losing streak to the Longhorns earlier this month, with a 74-66 win in Lubbock. Vivian Gray recorded a double-double with 24 points and 13 rebounds in the win, while Lexi Gordon scored 10 of her 14 points in the fourth quarter to help Tech finish off the Horns.
Â
ABOUT THE LONGHORNS
The Texas Longhorns (11-4, 5-3 Big 12) come into Saturday's game having split their last two, including a 70-59 win at Iowa State last Saturday and a 68-51 loss at Oklahoma State on Wednesday. The Longhorns are led by Charli Collier, who is averaging a double-double at 20.8 points and 12.3 rebounds per game this season. With 11 double-doubles this season, Collier ranks first in the nation in double-doubles. As a team, Texas averages 20.9 forced turnovers per game to rank 23rd nationally and first in the Big 12 in that category. The Longhorns are led by Vic Schaefer in his first season in Austin.
Â

Lexi Gordon and Maka Jackson were both a bucket and a couple of boards away from double-doubles of their own, with Gordon scoring 11 with eight rebounds, and Jackson adding seven points and a career-high eight boards.
