
No. 9 Red Raiders Host UConn for Four-Game Set

Friday’s opener, originally scheduled for 6:30 p.m., has been adjusted to a 2 p.m. first pitch.
LUBBOCK, Texas – No. 9 Texas Tech baseball continues its 12-game home stand with a four-game series against Big East preseason favorite UConn this weekend at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park.

Friday's series opener was moved up and will begin at 2 p.m. First pitch on Saturday and Sunday are also set for 2 p.m., and Monday's finale was also adjusted to a 10:30 a.m. start. All four games will be available on Big 12 Now on ESPN+ and on the radio via the Texas Tech Sports Network.

Fans are encouraged to check www.TexasTech.com for ticket availability for upcoming home games. Season ticket holders who are unable to attend a game in which they have tickets are encouraged to utilize Texas Tech's mobile ticketing transfer platform to ensure their seats are used on gameday.

All originally issued tickets for Friday and Monday date are valid for the new start times. Individuals who are unable to attend are encouraged to give them to family or friends, or contact the Texas Tech Ticket Office.

The Red Raiders (10-3) enter the weekend winners of 10 consecutive games after a midweek sweep over Gonzaga. Tech is also 7-0 at home this season and has won 19-straight home games dating back to the 2019 season.

UConn (4-6) heads to Lubbock after wrapping up a four-game weekend in Conway, S.C., on Monday. The Huskies went 2-2 with a shutout of Miami (Ohio) and a one-run loss to Davidson before splitting a pair of tight battles at Coastal Carolina. Of UConn's 10 games this season, eight have been decided by two runs or less.

Friday's meeting will be the second all-time between Texas Tech and UConn. The only other meeting came in Orlando, Fla, in 2013 in Tim Tadlock's first season as the Huskies came away with a 1-0 win in 11 innings.

Tech is 11-3 all-time against Big East members. Friday will be the first meeting against a Big East opponent since the UConn matchup in 2013. It will be the first time a Big East member has visited Lubbock since Seton Hall in 2002.
