Red Raiders are the second-highest ranked program in the eight-team field entering three-day event
LUBBOCK, TEXAS – The Texas Tech women's golf team will compete for the fourth time this spring beginning Tuesday when the Red Raiders travel to the Alamo City for the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational hosted at the San Antonio Country Club.
This will be the second time the Red Raiders have competed in the event but the first time at the San Antonio Country Club. Tech finished 12th out of the 14-team field in 2017 as Louisa Brunt was the lone remaining Red Raider who participated in the tournament.
The two-day, 54-hole-event hosted by UTSA will take place at the San Antonio Country Club, a par-72, 6,131-yard championship course. Tuesday will begin with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start with 36 holes to follow, while Wednesday will have a similar start for the final 18 holes.
As a team, the Red Raiders are coming off an eighth-place finish two weeks ago at the ICON Invitational, which pushed Tech to No. 31 in the latest Golfstat rankings. Tech is the second-highest ranked program in this week's eight-team field, trailing only No. 29 North Texas.
Tech will travel eight players to San Antonio as the team lineup will consist of juniors Sofia Garcia and Amy Taylor, sophomores Anna Dong and Cecilie Nielsen and freshman Gala Dumez. The Red Raiders will also have juniors Brunt and Valentina Gilly as well as freshman Pyrene Delample participate as individuals.
Live scoring will be available throughout the event via Golfstat.com.
