Texas Tech Set for Home Series Against No. 12 Oklahoma State

The Red Raiders will host the Cowgirls for the first time since the 2018 season.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech (16-16, 0-6 Big 12) faces off against its second top-15 opponent in two weeks when 12th ranked Oklahoma State (29-5, 5-1 Big 12) travels to Lubbock for a three-game series April 9-11.
The series starts Friday at 6:00 p.m. at Rocky Johnson Field with game two slated for Saturday at 4:00 p.m. and the series finale Sunday at noon. All games will be streamed live on Big 12 Now on ESPN+ and tickets are available for purchase at texastech.com. Saturday's game is Military Appreciation Day, active military and veterans will receive free entry to the game when they present valid military ID at the door and fans will receive a camo Texas Tech branded koozie while supplies last.
The Red Raiders are still looking for their first conference win after a series sweep at the hands of No. 7 Texas in Austin last week. The Cowgirls are coming off a sweep of Iowa State to improve to 5-1 in Big 12 play this season.

RED RAIDER QUICK HITS
- Sixth-year senior Karli Hamilton is making the most of her final season in Lubbock. She leads the team in home runs (5), RBI (25), triples (2), total bases (52) and walks (12). Hamilton is second on the team in hits (28), doubles (5) and third in batting average (.329). Hamilton recently moved into a tie for third place in program history after belting her 29th career home run against Texas last weekend.
- The Red Raider defense remains in the top 10 in fielding percentage sitting at ninth in the nation and third in the Big 12. The Red Raiders have had two streaks of five or more consecutive games without an error this season and have only committed more than one error in a game three times.
- Senior pitcher Erin Edmoundson moved into second place in program history in career strikeouts last weekend after tallying five strikeouts against the Longhorns in Friday's game to reach 473 on her career. Edmoundson surpassed Ashly Jacobs' 470 career strikeouts with her third strikeout of the game in the top of the third inning.
- Tech has seen the long ball up and down its roster this season with 11 different players contributing to the home run tally. Five Red Raiders tallied their first career home runs this season including junior Yvonne Whaley who sent a pitch over the wall for a leadoff home run against Baylor. Alanna Barraza, Kennedy Crites, Ellie Bailey and Arriana Villa each tallied their first career home runs. Barraza hit the first two home runs of the season for the Red Raiders and Villa hit three in one day. Hamilton leads the team with five home runs followed by three from Villa, two apiece from Barraza, Crites, Zoe Jones, Peyton Blythe and Kelcy Leach and one each from Whaley, Bailey, Heaven Burton and Maddie Westmoreland.
- Oklahoma State leads the overall series against the Red Raiders 41-24, winning nine of the last 10 meetings. The last Tech win came in 2018 when the Red Raiders defeated the Cowgirls 4-3 in eight innings on a walk-off base hit from Kiana Workman that scored Burton.
