Texas Tech set for Senior Night

LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech will honor seniors Sierra Jones and Charlotte Teeter before taking on Baylor Thursday night at the John Walker Soccer Complex. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Jones and Teeter have both been five-year members of the Red Raider soccer program.

After a long rehab from injury, Jones has helped revitalize the Red Raider backline, where she has seen five starts and over 475 minutes. Teeter has been a starter in the midfield since her freshman season and serves as a captain of this year's squad.

The Red Raiders (8-3-5, 4-1-2 Big 12) earned both Offensive and Defensive Big 12 Player of the Week as Ashleigh Williams and Elise Anderson picked up the nods from the league office.

Scouting the Bears
Baylor (4-8-2, 2-4-0 Big 12) enters the matchup after falling to West Virginia 3-1 last Sunday. However, the Bears picked up a 3-2 win over Iowa State last Thursday,

Reneta Vargas and Ashley Merrill lead the way for the Bears with 10 points. Vargas has netted five goals this season while Merrill has four goals and a pair of assists.

Scoring is the key to winning, of course. The Red Raiders have yet to be beaten in a matchup where the squad scored at least one goal (8-0-3).
Madison White enters Thursday night ranked fourth in Tech's career goals against record (0.89), third in career shutouts (24) and sixth in career saves (186).
The Red Raiders boast a young roster with the addition of 10 freshmen. Freshman Kylie Bahr is the only freshmen to have started every games so far this season while freshman Peyton Parsons and freshman Molly Skurcenski have both seen starts in the midfield and backline.
Ashleigh Williams is on a hot streak! The sophomore forward has tallied six goals in Tech's last four matches. She recorded multi-goal matches against Iowa State and Kansas during this stretch.
Last season, Texas Tech was led by primary goal scorer Kirsten Davis. With the loss of Davis, the Red Raiders have become a score by committee style offense with eight different goal scorers on the season thus far.
Keeper Madison White ranks first in the league in goalie minutes plater (1440:00), second in goals-against average (.668) and first in shutouts (7).
The Texas Tech defenders have gotten in on the scoring action this season. Tech freshman Molly Skurcenski recorded her first collegiate goal against West Virginia on the first shot attempt of her career. Defender Elise Anderson then netted her first career against Oklahoma State last week. Defender Hannah Anderson also has two goals this season.
As team's begin to shorten their substitution list heading into conference play, Tech still relies on its bench depth. The Red Raiders have played 16 or more players in each conference matchups.
Texas Tech has taken 41 more shots than its opponents. On average, Tech is holding opponents to 8.2 shots per contest while firing off 10.9 shots.
The Red Raiders are unbeaten in 10 of their last 11 matches. Tech's lone loss in the past 11 matches came to No. 25 Texas.
