Red Raiders host Kansas for Senior Day

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Red Raiders (15-13, 4-11 Big 12) are set to host the Kansas Jayhawks in their final match of the season for Senior Day at 1 p.m. in the United Supermarkets Arena on Friday, November 25.
Five seniors – Bradi Marshall, KJ Adams, Alex Torres, Karrington Jones and Brooke Kanas – will be recognized after the conclusion of the match.
The Red Raiders are coming off a tough, five-set loss to the Kansas State Wildcats on Wednesday. In the match, libero Maddie Correa eclipsed 500 career digs after posting a career-high 31 digs. In doing so, she now ranks tied for ninth in single-game digs while also tying for the fifth-most digs in a five-set match in school history.
Kanas played in her 135th career match yesterday, which now ranks third in school history. She also needs three blocks to rank 10th with 329 blocks. Against Kansas State, Jones added three more blocks to her career total, now tallying 339, which ranks sixth in program history.
Reese Rhodes posted a career-high three aces in the match, while also picking up her 12th double-double of the year with 51 assists and 15 digs. Kenna Sauer also added a double-double with 13 kills and 17 digs. The Red Raiders posted a season-best 102 digs in the match, with four players recording double-digit dig performances.
As a team, the Red Raiders total 1,391 kills, 1,286 assists, 129 aces, 1,594 digs and 250.5 blocks. Sauer leads the team with 412 kills and 456.0 points, Rhodes posts a team-high 992 assists and Maddie O'Brien has a team-leading 39 aces. Defensively, Correa leads with 353 digs and Kanas posts a team-best 107.0 blocks.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Kansas holds an all-time 17-37 record against Texas Tech. The Jayhawks also won the two teams' first meeting on October 15 with a five-set victory in Lawrence. Kansas boasts an 18-9 overall record and an 8-5 Big 12 record, recently beating Iowa State in five sets on November 19. As a team, the Jayhawks total 1,280 kills, 1,176 assists, 125 aces, 1,419 digs and 264.0 blocks.
Offensively, redshirt freshman Ayah Elnady leads in kills (283), points (347.0) and aces (38). Camryn Turner posted a team-best 937 assists on the season, while Kennedy Farris added 102 more. Defensively, Farris also has a team-leading 312 digs and Lauren Dooley totals a team-high 74.0 blocks.

Fans can head to the ticket office of the NW entrance starting at 12 p.m. to purchase tickets. Reminder – the match time was moved from 6 p.m. to 1 p.m. due to potential weather in the Lubbock area.
