Lady Raiders return to action Wednesday

After an eight-day hiatus due to finals, the Lady Raiders welcome ORU Wednesday
LUBBOCK, Texas – Following an eight-day hiatus to focus on finals, the Texas Tech Lady Raiders return to action Wednesday night when they welcome Oral Roberts to United Supermarkets Arena.
Looking for their eighth straight win, the Lady Raiders (8-1) and Golden Eagles will clash for the first time since the 2007-08 season. Tech has won the last six matchups against ORU.

Playing in front over 13,000 fans for the first time in nearly two decades, the Texas Tech Lady Raiders downed Sam Houston 68-55 Tuesday afternoon at United Supermarkets Arena in the program's annual Education Day game.
Playing in front of an electric crowd that featured over 9,000 kids from the surrounding Lubbock/West Texas area, Texas Tech (8-1) closed out its seventh straight win and extended its best start since the 2019-20 season.
Tuesday's announced attendance of 13,306 marks the highest attendance figure for a WBB game in the country this season and is the most attended game in nearly a calendar year.
In the victory, four Lady Raiders reached double-figures led by junior forward Jazmaine Lewis and guard Bre'Amber Scott. Lewis scored a career-high 17 points and grabbed 7 rebounds on Tuesday afternoon in just 12 minutes of action, while Scott contributed 15 points and 10 rebounds for her first career double-double.
The Lady Raiders were also boosted by the return of grad transfer Katie Ferrell. Big Kat played in 13 minutes on Tuesday contributing three rebounds, three assists and a steal.

Led by reigning Summit League Player of the Week, Hannah Cooper, ORU enters Wednesday's game at 3-7 overall. The Golden Eagles are coming off a big victory last time out against Abilene Christian. In the win over ACU, Cooper scored 26 points playing all 40 minutes of action. The El Paso native was 9-of-13 from the field and also had nine assists. The Golden Eagles had a second 20-point scorer as 2021-22 Summit League Freshman Year Tirzah Moore poured in 21 points on perfect 7-of-7 shooting. One of the most improved players in the country, Cooper is currently averaging 19.3 points a game and has reached double figures in nine of 10 games. The 26 she scored last Sunday was her second-best output of the season behind the 39 points she scored against UNLV. Cooper has dished out a Summit League best 5.0 assists/game this season. A prolific offensive team, the Golden Eagles have allowed 83.6 points a game this season, as opponents have shot 44.1 percent against ORU. The Golden Eagles have four players averaging in double-figures led by Cooper and Moore. Moore is averaging 13.1 points and 10.9 rebounds a game this season. Moore is shooting 51-of-89 from the floor (57.3 percent) and had 25 and 18 vs. OU, 16 and 18 vs. SMU and 16 points and 16 and 11 vs. Arkansas. Moore has 37 points and 19 rebounds in her last two contests.
