Tech closes pre-Christmas homestand Thursday

The Lady Raiders host UC Riverside at United Supermarkets Arena
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Lady Raiders welcome the Highlanders of UC Riverside Thursday afternoon for a 2 p.m. contest.
The matchup will be the second-to-last non-conference game of the season and the final game before the Christmas holiday.

Powered by strong performances from guard Bre'Amber Scott and point-forward Katie Ferrell, the Texas Tech Lady Raiders rolled past the Cowgirls of McNeese State, 66-47 Monday night at United Supermarkets Arena.
With the victory, the Lady Raiders (10-1) have won nine games in-a-row and move to within one victory over tying last season's win total of 11.
For the third consecutive game, Scott was outstanding contributing 15 points, eight rebounds and three steals. The guard did not have a turnover and was an impressive 8-of-9 from the charity stripe.
In typical "Big Kat" fashion, Ferrell stuffed the stat sheet in her 22 minutes of action. She scored two points, grabbed a season-high nine boards had three assists to eclipse the 500 assist mark and had a pair of steals.
The UT Arlington transfer now has passed 500 career points, 700 career rebounds and 500 career assists.
Other strong performances Monday night included forward Jazmaine Lewis and guard Bailey Maupin reaching double-figures. Lewis scored 10 points in just 17 minutes of action to record her fifth game with at least 10 points this season, while Maupin hit double-figures for the eighth time.
In total, the Lady Raiders had 18 assists on 24 made baskets turning the ball over just nine times in the process.
KNOW YOUR FOE (McNeese):
The Highlanders enter Thursday's matchup at 2-7 overall. UCR defeated D-II foe Cal State LA in overtime back on Nov. 23 and followed that win up with a Nov. 26 victory over LIU. The Highlanders have played just twice since the Nov. 26th victory over LIU. UCR fall at Peperdine back on Dec. 11 before dropping 92-45 decision at Utah. An extremely balanced attack six different UCR players are averaging over 5.5 points a game, but none are averaging more than Jordan Webster's 9.4/game. As a team UCR is scoring just 50.7 points per contest. UCR was picked to finish seventh in the preseason Big West poll.
