Red Raiders set for NCAA Indoor meet

Seven Red Raiders enter the weekend having experienced an NCAA Indoor meet
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech track and field team travels 18 Red Raiders to the NCAA Indoor Championships which takes place in Birmingham, Ala., March 11-12 at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
The men's side takes 10 athletes with 11 entries into the meet, tied with Arkansas as the most heading into the weekend. Meanwhile, the women's team travels eight athletes.
Jacolby Shelton and Ruth Usoro will be the only set of Red Raiders that will compete in two events. Shelton has been entered for the 60m and 200m run while Usoro's name is entered in the triple and long jump.

In the seventh installment of the USTFCCCA Indoor Rankings released Monday afternoon, the men's team was slotted No. 3, while the women's team came in ranked No. 9.

Shelton – 60m and 200m
Moad Zahafi – 1000m (will run the 800m, the 1000m is not an NCAA event).
Gabe Oladipo – weight throw
Vashaun Vascianna – 60m hurdles
Jalen Seals – triple jump

Women
Rosemary Chukwuma – 60m
Ruta Lasmane – triple jump
NCAA Indoor Experience
A total of six Red Raiders go into Birmingham having an NCAA indoor meet under their belt – three from each side. Usoro captured the triple jump title last season with a leap of 14.27m (46'-10"). Lasmane, who transferred in from Florida State, placed third at the meet, jumping 14.15m (46'-5.25"). In the long jump, Usoro finished fifth as Monae' Nichols placed right behind her in sixth.
On the men's side, Seals placed eighth in the long jump and 10th in the triple jump. Meanwhile, Oladipo finished 12th in the weight throw as Haasbroek will be making his first NCAA Indoor appearance since 2019, where he placed 10th in the heptathlon when he competed for UTSA.
