The Red Raiders head to Austin next week for the Texas Relays

ABILENE, Texas – The Texas Tech track and field team concluded the Wes Kittley Invitational Saturday evening at Elmer Gray Stadium, highlighted by Aneesa Scott registering a new PR in the 200 at 23.07 – the No. 1 time in the NCAA currently.

Scott's best 200 time coming in was 23.64 and her new mark sits atop the NCAA standings ahead of Georgia's Kenondra Davis (23.23). Knowledge Omovoh was second with a time of 23.46 – tied for third in the NCAA – while Mercy Umoibang made her collegiate debut coming in fifth at 24.20.

The morning began with the women's javelin as Maria Sotomayor claimed third with a throw of 40.83 (133-11) to kick things off for Tech. Right after, the men stepped in and they were led by Garrett Wade with a winning toss of 65.11m (213-07). It was the first time in his career that Wade surpassed the 200ft mark.

Over in the women's discus, Seasons Usual led the group coming in first as Malin Smith and Kayli Johnson finished third and fourth, respectively. Usual's throw registered at 58.50m (191-11), while Smith came in at 52.62m (172-08) and Johnson at 49.25m (161-07). Gabe Oladipo led the men in first with a mark of 56.41m (185-01). Jacob Mechler (53.11, 174-0) placed second and Konner Wood (50.47m, 165-07) fifth as the duo made their discus debut.

In the women's 400, it was a 1-2-3 finish for Tech, led by Knowledge Omovoh with a PR time of 52.45. Nayanna Dubarry-Gay (54.94) placed second as Joanna Archer (55.63) capped off the top 3. Taylor Rooney (14.00) finished second as Kyle Lind (14.26) was behind him in third in the 110 hurdles.

TTU had another 1-2-3 finish, this time in the women's pole vault led by Ryleigh Redding (4.00m, 13-1.50). Oliva Cade (4.00m, 13-1.50) PR'd in second with Sarah Tackitt (3.90m, 12-9.50) rounding out the top 3.

The quartet of Madeline McElroy, Scott, Simone Watkins and Kiah Dubarry-Gay etched a 4x100 relay time of 44.65 for first. Courtney Lindsey spearheaded the men's 100 at 10.26, while K. Dubarry-Gay led the women's side at 11.59.

Sylvia Schulz nabbed first in the 400 hurdles with a PR of time of 58.56 – third in the country. In the high jump, Alexis Ivy took first (1.67m, 5-5.75) as Grace Cunningham made her debut, topping out at 1.62m (5-3.75). Malik Metivier – an All-American in the 400 hurdles last season with Auburn – finished first with a time of 49.85 – No. 2 time in the NCAA. In the men's 200, Daniel Omah etched a new PR time of 20.96 to place second. Kyle Stifflemire topped out at 4.90m (16-0.75) for fifth in the pole vault.

The 4x400 relays capped off the evening highlighted by the tandem of N. Dubarry-Gay, Le-Taija Jackson, Lexye Price and Michaela Lewis combined for a time of 3:41.09 for first overall.

Texas Tech is back in action next week at the Texas Relays (Mar. 23-26).
