Tech wraps up day two of Texas Relays

The Red Raiders start Friday morning with the 4x100 prelims
AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas Tech track and field team completed day two of the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays presented by Truist Thursday evening. Down the road in San Marcos, Konner Wood represented Tech at the Texas State Bobcat Invitational.
Another notable finish on day two included Chloe Wall finishing second in the pole vault with a height of 4.36m (14-3.25). It was her first day back in competition since the NCAA Indoor Championships.
In San Marcos, Wood placed sixth in the discus, tossing it 50.34m (165-15)
Texas Tech is back in action tomorrow at the Relays starting with the prelims of the 4x100 relays at 9:35 a.m.
Thursday was highlighted by Sylvia Schulz and Malik Metivier each winning their 400 hurdles heats and punching a ticket to Friday's final. Schulz registered a new PR time of 57.90 (fifth overall time), and in the process, moved into a tied for seventh on Tech's top 10 list. As of tonight, that time is fourth in the country. In the men's 800, Moad Zahafi made his Red Raider outdoor debut coming in second place with a time of 1:46.02. Texas' Jonathan Jones edged out Zahafi with a time of 1:45.83. Zahafi's time moved into sixth on Tech's top 10 list. Kirk Zuber ended the day for TTU with a huge PR in the 1500 as he clocked in a time of 3:51.89, shattering last week's mark of 3:58.57.That 57.90 time by @SylviaSchulz18 moves her into a tie for 7th all-time on Tech's top 10 list in the 400 H ?? pic.twitter.com/Jir4e80yeW
