Preview: Tech set for series at Iowa State

The Red Raiders are 18-11 all time in Ames.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech (19-19, 2-7) looks to get back on track in Big 12 play as the Red Raiders travel to Ames, Iowa to face Iowa State (20-19, 1-5) in a three-game series starting Thursday, April 14 through Saturday, April 16 at the Cyclone Sports Complex.

Both teams look to get back on track after dropping their respective Big 12 series last weekend. The Red Raiders struggled against the top-ranked team in the country, getting swept by No. 1 Oklahoma. The Cyclones started off the weekend on a high note, taking down No. 6 Oklahoma State 3-1 for their first Big 12 win of the season. The Cowgirls, however, would take the next two games to win the series.
Iowa State sits at the bottom of the Big 12 rankings with a 1-5 record while the Red Raiders are tied with Baylor and Kansas for fourth with 2-7 records.
The Cyclones won the series in Lubbock last season, taking two of three games from the Red Raiders. Tech won the series finale on a walk off base hit from Jacee Hamlin to avoid the series sweep. Last season the Cyclones earned their first NCAA Tournament berth since 1988.
The Red Raiders have not played in Ames since 2019, where Tech won the series two games to one. Tech has won nine of the last 12 games in Ames since the Big 12 started implemented a three-game series in 2012.
