Rogers, Omlin highlight multis Thursday

Rogers and Omlin competed in four events Thursday afternoon
LUBBOCK, Texas – Denim Rogers and Cole Omlin capped off day one of the Texas Tech Open and Multis Thursday afternoon inside the Sports Performance Center.
Rogers stands in fifth with 3,272 points while Omlin sits in 14th with 2,946 points.
The four events Thursday were the 60m, long jump, shot put and high jump. The duo will finish tomorrow with the 60m hurdles, pole vault and lastly, the 1000m.
Rogers opened up his 60m run with a personal best (PB) time of 6.84, breaking his previous time of 6.87 which he secured last weekend. He had the overall best time, placing first in his heat. Omlin ran his first 60m collegiate, going 7.29.
Despite an outing that saw them finish in the bottom half of the shot put, the pair shined in the high jump. Rogers tied his all-time best mark of 2.04m (6-8 ½) while Omlin claimed a new PB at 1.98m (6-6). Rogers would finish fourth and Omlin rounded out the top at finishing eighth.

In the long jump, Rogers and Omlin placed sixth and seventh, respectively. After his second leap, Rogers was sitting in 11th, but his final jump of 7.13 (23-4 ¾) shot him up to sixth.
