Tech hits the road for Wednesday Clash at OSU

Tech will look to snap a six-game losing streak to the Cowgirls overall and will seek the first win in Stillwater since 2012-13
STILLWATER, Okla. – The Texas Tech Lady Raiders hit the road Wednesday for the annual trip to Stillwater to clash with the Cowgirls of Oklahoma State.
Tip-off from Iba-Gallagher is set for 6:30 p.m.
Seeking to snap a six-game losing streak overall and win in Stillwater for the first time since 2012-13, the Lady Raiders enter Wednesday's contest just one-half game back Oklahoma State in the standings and would surpass OSU with a victory.

On the 30th anniversary celebration of the 1993 National Championship, the Texas Lady Raiders fell to Baylor, 79-59 in front of an electric crowd of over 8,000 Saturday afternoon at United Supermarkets Arena.
With over 85 former players in attendance and in the National Girls and Women in Sports Day Celebration, Texas Tech (15-6, 3-5 Big 12) struggled to overcome a 1-for-17 stretch in Saturday's third quarter.
The cold spell came at the worst possible time for the Lady Raiders who raced out of the halftime break by scoring the second half's first seven points to trim a 36-26 halftime to just 36-33.
With all the momentum and the crowd of 8,235 roaring, the shots just stopped falling.
Despite missing the next 14 shots from the field they attempted, the Lady Raiders trailed just 40-36 with 5:49 to play in the third and by seven with 3:32 to play in the quarter, but Baylor (14-6, 5-3 Big 12) closed the third quarter on a 13-4 run to take a 54-40 lead into the fourth.
In the fourth, Tech scored seven of the first 11 points to get to within 58-47, but Baylor closed with 21-12 run to close out a 79-59 victory.
Tech was led by guards Bre'Amber Scott and Jasmine Shavers. Scott scored 22 points, while Shavers added 19 points and five rebounds. The guard hit the only two triples the Lady Raiders made on the afternoon.
Baylor saw five of its seven players that played Saturday reach double figures including Caitlin Bickle who scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Freshman Darianna Littlepage-Buggs added 16 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.
SCOUTING THE COWGIRLS:
• Oklahoma State enters the game against Tech at 14-7 and 4-5 in the Big 12. OSU has won three straight games at Iba-Gallagher and are an impressive 10-2 overall at home and 3-1 in conference play. The Cowgirls last four losses have occurred on the road.
• One of the streakier teams in the conference, OSU opened Big 12 play 0-2 with losses at home to KU and at K-State. The Cowgirls then immediately got hot, winning three straight games over UT (86-82), at Baylor (70-65) and at home against TCU (80-70).
• The Cowgirls have been extremely balanced this season offensively as four players are currently averaging in double figures. If the season were to end today, OSU would have four players averaging at least 10 PPG for the first time since the 2014-15 season.
• Fifth-Year senior and UMKC transfer Naomie Alanatas has led the way for OSU, scoring 13.7 points per game. Alanatas followed HC Jaycee Hoyt when she got the HC job. The guard was a First Team All-Summit League selection after finishing second in the conference in scoring (18.6 points).
• Villanova transfer Lior Garzon is second on the OSU team in PPG (11.8) followed by UTA transfer Claire Chastain (11.0) and Lexy Keys (10.0). In total OSU added eight different transfers highlighted by Alanatas, Chastain and Garzon. Like Ferrell, Chastain was recruited by and signed by coach Krista Gerlich at UT Arlington.
ROAD WARRIORS
• The Lady Raiders have already won twice on the road in Big 12 Confernece play through their first four conference games away from United Supermarkets Arena. If the Lady Raiders are able to win on Wednesday at Oklahoma State, they will win three Big 12 Conference road games for the first time under HC Krista Gerlich and for the first time since the 2019-20 season. Tech is 3-2 this season away from United Supermarkets Arena.
ON THIS DATE IN HISTORY
• Ironically enough, the last timne that the Lady Raiders defeated Oklahoma State was Feb. 1, 2020. Tech and OSU will again meet on Feb. 1, this time during the year 2023. The Lady Raiders have not defeated OSU in Stillwater since the 2012-13 season. In total, Tech has lost six in-a-row vs. OSU and the last 10 matchups in Stillwater.
THE ONES THAT STARTED IT ALL
• The Lady Raiders will wore brand new "retro" black uniforms on Saturday against the Bears. Unveiled last Thursday afternoon, the uniforms were modeled after the uniforms that the Lady Raiders won the National Championship in back during the '92-'93 season. In the end, Coach Gerlich and the Lady Raiders welcomed back over 80 former players Saturday against Baylor for alumni weekend. At halftime of the game, each decade of Lady Raider Basketball was honored highlighted by the 1992-93 National Champions. 1992-93 Most Outstanding Player during the Final Four, Sheryl Swoopes highlighted the group of over 80 alumna in attendance.
BRE'S ON FIRE
• Senior Bre'Amber Scott is back for her senior season and is playing at a high level. After missing the first two games of the season due to personal reasons, Scott made her return to the Lady Raider lineup before the Colorado game. Tech is now 13-5 this season in Scott's 18 games. The guard leads the team in points-per-game (17.2) and has grabbed a team-best 116 rebounds. Her 6.4 rebounds a game are also the best on the Lady Raider squad. Scott has also made a team-best 106 free throws and has taken a team-high 131 attempts. In eight Big 12 games, Scott has scored 177 points, reaching 20 in six of those games. • Scott is leading the Big 12 in conference only scoring checking in at 23.4 points per game. Scott is shooting 47-of-61 (77.0) from the line in Big 12 play this season and the Lady Raiders are 4-3 when she reaches 20 points this season. Scott's 37 points at K-State are tied for the fifth-most point that a Tech player has scored on the road. The Lady Raiders are now 71-13 in the 84 games where someone has scored 30+.
WE'LL TAKE THAT
• Texas Tech has forced 265 turnovers over the last 15 contests (17.7/game) including a Krista Gerlich Era record 24 vs. Alabama State. As a team the Lady Raiders have forced 348 turnovers through the seasons first 20 games (18.4). All of last season Tech forced just 396. The Lady Raiders are 13-2 this season when forcing more than 15 turnovers and have forced at least 20 turnovers five times. Tech did not force at least 20 turnovers in a game at all last season.
WE MUST PROTECT THIS HOUSE
• The Lady Raiders are 14-1 this season when holding teams to under 30 points in the paint and 15-1 when holding teams to 32 or less in a game. Oklahoma scored 42 points in the paint, the most Tech has allowed in a game this season. The Lady Raiders allowed 34 points in the paint against JSU, 38 points in the paint against ISU and a season-high 44 against KU. For the season, opponents are scoring just 28.7/game inside the paint. The loss at WVU was the first time this season Tech fell when allowing fewer than 30 points in the paint. WVU managed just 14.
