SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas Tech women's golf program is set to compete at the Jim West Challenge, Oct. 22-23, hosted by Texas State. It will be the Red Raiders' final tournament of their fall schedule before looking ahead to the spring season.Â
The 54-hole tournament, contested at Kissing Tree Golf Club, 10 minutes south of San Marcos, will begin on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. The first day will consist of 36 holes while the third and final round is Monday and will tee off at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start as well.

THE LAST TIME OUT
Sophomore Shannon Tan made a strong comeback in the final round of the Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah. Tan moved up 14 spots on the leaderboard aided by firing two birdies in her first five holes, ultimately finishing 3-over-par for the tournament and tied for 37th.
The sophomore had been absent from tournaments since September 12 due to her participation in the KLPGA tournament a few weeks ago.
Senior Gala Dumez matched Tan's score, also finishing 3-over-par and tied for 37th. Dumez began with a birdie in the final round, ending with a 1-over-par 73 on Tuesday.
Freshman Maja Ambroziak, after a mixed performance on Monday, started with a bogey but rebounded with two birdies in the third round. She finished tied for 47th, just three shots behind Dumez and Tan.
As a team, the Red Raiders finished 29-over-par and tied for 13th.
