
Bradford finishes national runner-up Friday

The second place finish is the highest of Bradford’s career at the NCAA indoor meet
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Pole vaulter Zach Bradford highlighted Friday's meet for Texas Tech as he walked away as the 2023 NCAA Indoor Championships runner-up at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
Bradford did not miss until the height of 5.71m (18-8 ¾) which he passed on his second attempt. He would go on to clear 5.81m (19- ¾) before missing twice on 5.86m (19-2 ¾). From here, Bradford would pass on his third attempt and jump to the next height, 5.91m (19-4 ¾). On his first attempt, he cleared the bar, setting a new lifetime best in the process. Brad bowed out of the competition attempting 5.96m (19-6 ½).
Overall, it's Bradford's third top-5 finish at the NCAA indoor meet and his highest placing and the highest for a Red Raider at the meet.
As he's done many times this season for the Red Raiders, Denim Rogers started off day one in the heptathlon. In the first event of the morning, Rogers ran a PB 60m time of 6.79, taking second overall. He would secure another PB mark, this time in the shot as he went 13.34m (43-9 ¼) on his first throw.
Rogers capped off the day with 3,263 points in 13th place. He concludes the day tomorrow with. The 60m hurdles, pole vault and 1000m.
Demisha Roswell booked a final lane in Saturday's 60m hurdles race. The Jamaica native lowered her own school record to 7.92 – the fourth-fastest time of the evening.
Rosemary Chukwuma was not able to make the final cut in her both events. Chukwuma posted a 7.23 (12th) in the 60m before going 22.80 for 10th in the 200m – No. 2 all-time mark for Tech.
Terrence Jones will represent TTU n tomorrow's 60m final as he clocked in at 6.54 – No. 6 all-time for Tech. He finished second in his heat and posted the third best overall time.
Meanwhile in the 60m hurdles for the men, two Red Raiders booked a finals lane for Saturday – the only school that can say that. Big 12 Champion Caleb Dean clocked in at 7.59, tying Antoine Andrews' No. 2 Tech time. As for Andrews, he snagged the final spot, coming in at 7.67.
Courtney Lindsey failed to qualify for the 200m final as he produced a time of 20.60 – 10th overall.
