Triple jump shines on final day of NCAA West prelims

Each Red Raider in the triple jump placed inside the top-6, led by Ruta Lasmane
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – On the final day of the NCAA West First Round, the Texas Tech triple jump crew of Ruta Lasmane, Onaara Obamuwagun and Anne-Suzanna Fosther-Katta each punched their ticket to Austin for the upcoming national championships.
Lasmane bounded 14.07m (46-2) (+1.7w) on her second attempt to leap over Texas' Ackelia Smith for the top spot in the west. The mark for Lasmane is a SB and puts her No. 2 all-time in Tech history.
The first running event for Tech was the 4x100 as the team of Serena Clark, Rosemary Chukwuma, Demisha Roswell and Adriane Nwonumah combined for a SB time of 43.69, finishing third in the heat and 8th overall for the auto-bid. The time puts them No. 7 all-time in TTU history.
Roswell in the 100 hurdles threw down the No. 2 all-time mark for Tech with a time of 12.77 (+0.8w), easily taking her heat. Roswell now owns the top-6 times in Tech's record book.

- Sylvia Schulz would miss the cut by one spot in the 400 hurdles. She a 57.15 and the final spot taken was 57.12.
