Zach Bradford had never finished higher than 5th at the NCAA outdoor meet

AUSTIN, Texas – Zach Bradford added another First Team All-American honor to his name, while Courtney Lindsey shined in the 200m, recording the 12^th- fastest time in NCAA history Wednesday night.

Bradford was the first Tech athlete to score points on the board as he finished tied for 3^rd in the pole vault with a height of 5.60m (18-4 ½). His 3^rd place outing is a career-best finish at an NCAA Outdoor Championship. In the process, he earns his third overall First Team All-American honor outdoors.

Lindsey qualified for Friday's final in both the 100m and 200m sprints Wednesday night. In the 100m, Lindsey posted a time of 10.03 (+1.3w), finishing 2^nd in his heat. Meanwhile in the 200m, the Illinois native posted a blistering time of 19.88 (+0.6w) (PB), taking 1^st in his heat and the 2^nd- best time. His time is No. 3 all-time for Tech and No. 12 all-time in the NCAA.

Terrence Jones ran a new PB time of 20.03 (+1.0w) in the 200m as he booked a finals lane for Friday. Jones finished 2^nd in his heat.

Caleb Dean also booked himself a finals lane for Friday placing 1^st in his heat and 4^th overall with a time of 49.07 in the 400 hurdles.

The men's 4x100 team of Adam Clayton, Lindsey, Don'Dre Swint and Terrence Jones qualified for Friday. The quartet combined for new school record of 38.20, posting the 2^nd- fastest time of the day. The previous record was 38.24 set at Big12s back in May.

Joe Keys started the day off for Tech in the first half of the decathlon. Keys finished day one scoring 3,901 points as he sits in 17^th going into the final half tomorrow. Key's set a new PB in the high jump with a clearance of 1.98m (6-6).

Notes

Jones missed the 100m cut as he ran a 10.06 (+1.3w). The last spot taken was a time of 10.04.
Dean missed the cut by two spots as he ran a time of 13.56 (+1.7w). The final spot taken was 13.53.
