Zach Bradford had never finished higher than 5th at the NCAA outdoor meet
AUSTIN, Texas – Zach Bradford added another First Team All-American honor to his name, while Courtney Lindsey shined in the 200m, recording the 12th- fastest time in NCAA history Wednesday night. Â

Bradford was the first Tech athlete to score points on the board as he finished tied for 3rd in the pole vault with a height of 5.60m (18-4 ½). His 3rd place outing is a career-best finish at an NCAA Outdoor Championship. In the process, he earns his third overall First Team All-American honor outdoors.

Caleb Dean also booked himself a finals lane for Friday placing 1st in his heat and 4th overall with a time of 49.07 in the 400 hurdles.Â

The men's 4x100 team of Adam Clayton, Lindsey, Don'Dre Swint and Terrence Jones qualified for Friday. The quartet combined for new school record of 38.20, posting the 2nd- fastest time of the day. The previous record was 38.24 set at Big12s back in May.

Joe Keys started the day off for Tech in the first half of the decathlon. Keys finished day one scoring 3,901 points as he sits in 17th going into the final half tomorrow. Key's set a new PB in the high jump with a clearance of 1.98m (6-6).Â

Lindsey qualified for Friday's final in both the 100m and 200m sprints Wednesday night. In the 100m, Lindsey posted a time of 10.03 (+1.3w), finishing 2nd in his heat. Meanwhile in the 200m, the Illinois native posted a blistering time of 19.88 (+0.6w) (PB), taking 1st in his heat and the 2nd- best time.
