Ambroziak posts top-10, leads Tech at Sam Golden

The Freshman helped the Red Raiders to a 7th place finish
CORINTH, TEXAS – The Texas Tech Women's golf program wrapped up the Sam Golden Invitational Tuesday with a seventh-place finish.
Leading the way for the Red Raiders was Freshman Maja Ambroziak (-8) who used a strong finish to record her first career top-10 finish.
The freshman opened the week with rounds of 68 and 68 before firing a final round 71.
Continuing her dominance from yesterday, sophomore Shannon Tan ended the week inside the top-25 with rounds of 70 and a pair of 71's. Tan finished (-4) for the week.
Junior Kylee Loewe started out on fire on Day Two firing three birdies in her first eight holes. Loewe would go on to finish -1 for the tournament, placing her tied for 35th individually.
Senior Gala Dumez also had a strong week for Tech, using a three-under round of 69 on Monday's second round to finish tied for 39th.
As a team, the Red Raiders finished -17, just three shots behind fifth place Tulsa (-20) and Nebraska (-20).
Houston (-48) rolled to the team title, winning the Sam Golden by 13 shots. The host, North Texas (-35), made a late push for first, recording 28 birdies in the third round, to end the three rounds at -35 overall.
UTSA (-27) and Missouri (-19) would round out the top four after some moving around during Round Three.
TCU (-9) finished eighth after a late push from the Horned Frogs. Kennesaw State (-7), Tulane (E), BYU (+2) and Charlotte (+7) rounded out the 12-team field.
