Tech hosts Kansas State in Big 12 home opener

The Red Raiders will host the Wildcats on Thursday at 6 p.m. before going to Colorado for an 8 p.m. match on Saturday
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech volleyball team (8-6, 0-2) will host Kansas State (3-8, 1-1) on Thursday at 6 p.m. in the United Supermarkets Arena for their first home Big 12 match and first home match in almost a month. Tech will follow up its match with the Wildcats with an 8 p.m. Saturday match at Colorado against the Buffs.
The Red Raiders will face two familiar foes this weekend, having played K-State and Colorado a combined 92 times. Tech dropped the series against the Wildcats last season and haven't played the Buffs since 2021, dropping that match.
PREVIOUSLY IN TEXAS TECH VOLLEYBALL:
Tech dropped its opening conference matches to (RV) Utah and No. 17 BYU last weekend. Despite the losses, the Red Raiders played tough as every set except one was decided by three or fewer points including a 34-32 set win over the Utes in set three.
Mia Wesley reached 200 aces and 1,800 kills for her career and is one of just three active players to reach that mark.
Maddie Correa accumulated 23 digs over the weekend, putting her in the top 10 in program history for digs in a career.

-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The Red Raiders are ranked 52nd in the country in aces per set (1.8) and t-48th in total aces (92).
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â As a team, Tech is 23rd in the nation in digs per set (16.73) and 29th in total digs (853).
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Tech is 13-6 at home over the past two seasons including a 3-0 record so far this year, they will look to improve on that record against K-State.
