Details on the Big 12 Match Play Format:Â The tournament will be played over three days consisting of Pool Play for one-and-a-half days (three sessions) followed by a bracket beginning on Tuesday afternoon. The Final Round will be played on Wednesday morning. Match Play will be played during all rounds.Â
Each team match will consist of five individual matches. Teams will be ranked and seeded based on the Big 12 Coaches Ranking. If two teams have the same combined ranking, the Scoreboard ranking will determine the seed. The Pool Play seeding will be as follows:
Pool A: No. 1 Arizona State, No. 8 Iowa State, No. 9 Cincinnati
Pool B: No. 2 Oklahoma State, No. 7 Kansas, No. 10 K-State, No. 15 UCF
Pool C: No. 3 Utah, No. 6 BYU, No. 11 Houston, No. 14 West Virginia
Pool D: No. 4 Texas Tech, No. 5 Colorado, No. 12 TCU, No. 13 Baylor
All individual matches within the team match will produce a result (3&2, 1 up, halved) and will not be played beyond the 18th hole. An individual match win will award that team with one point. An individual match that remains tied after 18 holes awards each team with a half point. Once all individual matches are completed within a team match, the team with the greater point total will receive three points while the losing team receives zero points. If the match is tied at the end of all five individual matches (2.5 points to 2.5 points), both teams receive one point.
If there is a tie following Pool Play to advance to the semifinals, a 5-count-5 sudden-death playoff will break the tie. A tie in the semifinals will be broken by hole differential, then higher seed. A tie in the final match results in a 5-count-5 sudden-death playoff.

Notes:
- Texas Tech is set to close its fall season once again at the annual Big 12 Men's Match Play tournament, Oct. 9-11.
- The Red Raiders finished sixth in 2023. Texas Tech won the event in 2022.
- The 2024 edition will feature all 15 of the league's new-look 16-team conference. BYU, Cincinnati, Houston and UCF each joined the mix for the first time a year ago while Arizona State, Colorado and BYU will be in action for the first time this season. The Arizona Wildcats will not be in attendance.
- The Red Raiders are slotted in "Pool D" and were given the fourth overall seed for the event. This has been the case in back-to-back years.Â
- Texas Tech is the top seed in its pool. It will face No. 5 Colorado, No. 12 TCU and No. 13 Baylor in its three pool play sessions.
- The Red Raiders hope to secure their third victory at this event after winning the first year this event was held in 2019 and then again in 2022.
