Red Raiders host Iowa State on Senior Day

Tech will honor seniors Elena Leontaridou, Maddie Correa, Mia Wesley, Reagan Leinen, Simone Overbeck and Emily Merrick following the match
LUBBOCK, Texas – Senior day has arrived for the Texas Tech volleyball program who will host Iowa State on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the United Supermarkets Arena. Six seniors will be recognized after the match including Elena Leontaridou, Maddie Correa, Mia Wesley, Reagan Leinen, Simone Overbeck and Emily Merrick.
The Red Raiders (13-12, 5-8) come into Saturdays match with a 4-2 record over their last six matches with the two losses coming against ranked opponents. Iowa State (9-14, 3-9) defeated Tech 3-0 in Ames on Oct. 18 but since have gone on a six-game losing streak.
PREVIOUSLY IN TEXAS TECH VOLLEYBALL:
The Red Raiders dominated Houston last weekend with a convincing 3-0 sweep over the Cougars on their home floor. Tech has been on a solid six-game stretch after going 1-8 during the latter part of September into early October.
Tech's win moved head coach Tony Graystone to third all-time in program history for wins (129) and put the Red Raiders back above .500 on the season.
Over this six-match stretch, Emily Merrick has been rock solid. The graduate student has recorded at least seven kills in each match, highlighted by a 13-kill performance against Houston where she hit .571 which makes her the only Red Raider to hit above .500 with at least 10 kills twice this season.
QUICK HITS:
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Maddie Correa sits at 1,304 digs, putting her 6th all-time in program history. She is on pace to finish fourth as she trails Cristine Martin (1,323) and Emerson Solano (1,332).
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Mia Wesley has eclipsed 2,000 career points, 1,000 career digs and is one just three active players to have 1,800 kills and 200 aces for her career. Wesley is also 78 kills away from 2,000 for a career.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Brynn Williams eclipsed 500 career kills in Tech's 3-2 win over West Virginia on Oct. 26.
