Texas Tech men win Big 12 Indoor title

The Texas Tech men claimed their fourth Big 12 indoor title
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech men claimed its second-straight Big 12 Indoor title scoring 152 points en route to the program's fourth overall indoor trophy. The women's team finished second with 104 points.

The bulk of the men's 154 points came from the sprints side as Tech totaled 75 points between the 4x400 (10), 60m (29), 400m (10), 600yd (7), and 60m hurdles (19).

In the men's 60m, the Red Raiders turned in a 1-2-4-5-6 finish led by Swint. Dean and Houston's Shaun Maswanganyi tied in second at 6.62 (.620). Meanwhile, the women's 60m squad turned in a 1-2-3 finished led by Chukwuma. Alyssa Colbert (7.26) and Success Umukoro (728) finished second and third, respectively.

The men's 60m hurdles witnessed four Red Raiders score with Dean coming in second with a time of 7.58. Antoine Andrews (7.60, SB), DeVontae Ford (7.72), and Miquel Dingle (7.83 =PB) placed third, sixth and seventh, respectively.

Freshman Adeshina only needed three jumps to win the title as she started the competition at 1.76m (5-9 ¼) before bowing out attempting 1.94m (6-4 ¼). On the men's side, Omamuyovwi Erhire finished second at a height of 2.23m (7-3 ¾), equaling his lifetime best.
After false starting in the 60m, Jones' 200m time of 20.21 stands as the No. 1 time in the country.

The women's triple jump saw Ruta Lasmane and Anne-Suzanna Foster Katta go 2-3. Lasmane leaped 13.64m (44-9), while Foster-Katta equaled her season-best mark of 13.41m (44-0)

The Red Raiders crowned four individual champions Saturday as Don'Dre Swint (6.55) and Rosemary Chukwuma (7.23) won the 60m. Temitope Adeshina claimed the high jump (1.90m | 6-2 ¾), while Terrence Jones won the 200m (20.21). Tech's 4x400 team of Caleb Dean, Carl Hicks, Josh Bour and Shaemar Uter put the icing on the cake with a school record 4x400 time of 3:02.76.
