Texas Tech heads to Fort Worth for final regular season road game

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Lady Raiders will play in their last regular season road game this year as they travel to Fort Worth to take on the TCU Horned Frogs at Schollmaier Arena on Wednesday, February 27 at 6:30 p.m.
Texas Tech and TCU are meeting for the 64th time in program history as the Lady Raiders are on a four-game win streak over the Horned Frogs and lead the all-time series by a 49-14 record.
The Lady Raiders (16-13, 5-11 Big 12) are coming off a home loss to the Cincinnati Bearcats. In the game, both Jasmine Shavers and Bailey Maupin recorded double-figure scoring for the 22nd and 23rd time this season. Maupin led the team with 15 points on 5-of-11 shooting followed by Shavers with 10.
Texas Tech is currently led in scoring by Shavers and Maupin as they total 14.7 and 13.9 points per game, respectively. In rebounding, there are three Lady Raiders who average more than five boards per game in Kilah Freelon (5.7), Jordyn Merritt (5.6) and Shavers (5.1). The Lady Raiders are holding opponents to just 62.0 points per game this season while forcing an average of 18.83 turnovers per game, which ranks 52nd nationally. In addition, the Lady Raiders are shooting 76.3 percent from the free throw line, which is first in conference and 48th in the NCAA.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
The TCU Horned Frogs are coming into the game with an overall 18-9 record and a 5-11 record in conference play. TCU is currently on a three-game win streak after picking up victories against Cincinnati (79-72), BYU (68-58) and Houston (59-49). Prior to that, the Horned Frogs were on a five-game losing streak that started when they lost at Texas Tech on January 27 by a 65-71 score. TCU is ranked fifth in the nation in 3-pointers made per game with 9.7, while also ranking 16th with 5.2 blocks per game. They are holding opponents to just 36.6 percent from the field and to 60.7 points per game while scoring an average of 71.2 per game. TCU is without its second leading scorer; however, they are led in points per game by Sedona Prince (20.8) who just made her debut back last game against Houston after an injury. Following Prince in scoring is Sydney Harris (12.1) and Agnes Emma-Nnopu (10.7). Prince also leads the team with 10.3 rebounds per game and 48 blocks and Emma-Nnopu follows with 7.3 rebounds per game.
