AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas Tech track and field team capped off day two of the Texas Relays winning four events Friday evening at Mike A. Myers Stadium.

Oskar Edlund claimed the first title for Tech Friday evening in the 400m hurdles final. After clocking the fastest time yesterday in the prelims (50.56),the Sweden native turned in a time of 49.94 for the win, tying his all-time PB mark. Texas Tech has now won the last two of three 400m hurdles at the Texas Relays (Malik Metivier, 2022).

The first event of the morning for Tech was the prelims of the women's 4x100. The team of Rosemary Chukwuma (leadoff), Success Umukoro (second leg), Alyssa Colbert (third leg) and Serena Clark (anchor) combined for a time of 44.02 – the fastest time of the day. In the process, the quartet easily secured a finals lane Saturday afternoon.

On the men's side, Josh Bour (leadoff), Shawn Brown (second leg), Jalen Drayden (third leg) and Terrence Jones (anchor) booked a finals lane for Saturday despite a mishap on the exchange between Brown and Drayden. Tech finished with a time of 40.87 as Jones brought the Red Raiders from behind on the final straight away with a strong finish.

The shot put B section saw two first-place outings by Trey Wilson III and Faith Mitchell. Wilson III took the lead on his final throw, adding on to his PB with a throw of 18.41m (60-4 ¾) – a six-foot PB achievement. Meanwhile, Mitchell threw a PB mark of taking the lead on her third throw of 15.22m (49-11 ¼).

About 30 minutes later, the men's DMR team of Vincent Koech, Bradley Peralta, Markus Brodin and Edward Rush led Tech to its second-straight Texas Relays title with a time of 9:41.40, beating TCU by .33 seconds (9:41.73) Rush dropped a 3:58.86 split on the mile anchor leg to solidify the win.Oskar Edlund ??
