- Arizona State is set to host Texas Tech and 16 others for the Thunderbird Collegiate, an event the school has hosted since 1973.
- Notable names over the years that have won individual tiles at the Thunderbird Collegiate include Corey Pavin (1979), David Sutherland (1987), Phil Mickelson (1991, 1992), Paul Casey (2000), Jon Rahm (2014, 2015), Collin Morikawa (2017) as well as Red Raider great Ludvig Aberg (2021).
- The 54-hole event is set for 36 holes on Friday and the final 18 on Saturday.
- Hosted at Papago Golf Club, nestled in the heart of Papago Park, surrounded by the Arizona desert's natural beauty and framed by the stunning Papago Buttes, Papago is a golfing haven in Arizona just under two miles from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Conveniently situated where Phoenix, Tempe, and Scottsdale meet, it's a prime spot for golf enthusiasts. The course was created by William Francis (Billy) Bell, the genius behind San Diego's famed Torrey Pines.
- The Red Raiders will be featured at the Thunderbird Collegiate for the fourth-straight season; their best finish over the last three seasons was in 2022 placing third of 15 teams. Former Red Raider Ludvig Aberg won the Thunderbird Collegiate individual title as a sophomore in 2021.
- Matthew Comegys, Calum Scott, Baard Skogen and Tyran Snyders each represented Texas Tech at last year's Thunderbird Collegiate. Skogen finished sixth (68-72-66=206), Snyders finished T-20th (69-72-70=211), Comegys finished T-47th (70-74-73=217) while Scott finished T-50th (74-74-70=218).
- The 2024 Thunderbird Collegiate field is a star-studded field comprised of six Top 25 teams of the 17 in action (as ranked by Clippd).Â
