Lady Raiders head out on the road for two matches

LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 26 Texas Tech Lady Raiders will be on the road this week as they first travel to Austin, Texas for a match against No. 8 Texas on Thursday, April 4 at 2p.m., then head to Norman, Okla., for a contest against No. 23 Oklahoma on Saturday, April 6 as 12 p.m.
Texas Tech (15-5, 8-1 Big 12) is on a six-match winning streak and has tied the program record for most wins in conference after a perfect 2-0 weekend last week. The Lady Raiders earned a gritty, 4-3 win over No. 54 TCU last Thursday in a match where Tech won the doubles point and got singles wins from Cristina Tiglea, Metka Komac and Andreea Lila. Following this, the Lady Raiders defeated No. 31 Baylor in a sweep when they won another doubles point and added singles victories from Yekaterina Dmitrichenko, Komac and Lila.
As a team, the Lady Raiders total 100 singles wins already on the season as Tiglea, who is ranked No. 39 by the ITA, leads the way with 11 dual wins, followed by Lila, Polishchuk and Sayfetdinova with 10 dual wins apiece. In doubles, the No. 6 duo of Komac and Sayfetdinova as well as Polishchuk and Tiglea each tally 15 dual wins each to lead the Lady Raiders. In addition, Tech has currently won the last six doubles points and 11 of the last 12.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
The Texas Longhorns hold a 51-6 all-time record over the Lady Raiders and have won the last five matchups. Tech's last victory over the Longhorns was on May 17, 2018 when the Lady Raiders defeated Texas in the Sweet 16, 4-1.
