Despite going ahead 2-0, the Red Raiders drop the series finale
LAWRENCE, Kan. – An RBI single from Gavin Kash and an RBI double from Damian Bravo gave Texas Tech Baseball a 2-0 lead, but the Red Raiders ultimately fell 7-3 in the series finale Sunday afternoon to Kansas at Hoglund Ballpark.
Â

Â
The Red Raiders put the first two men on in the fourth inning chasing KU starter J'Briell Easley from the game in the fourth, but a strikeout and a pair of flyouts kept the Red Raiders off the board.
Â
In a 2-1 game, KU put the first two on base in their chance in the fourth on a pair of walks, but Heuer rebounded to retire the next two batters.
Â
Just an out from escaping the threat, Heuer issued two more five-pitch walks that tied the game and ultimately gave KU a 3-2 lead.
Â
With the bases loaded in the 3-2 game, Tech turned to reliever Jacob Rogers, who allowed a bases clearing double to Kodey Shojinaga that put the Jayhawks on top 6-2.
Â
KU added another unearned run in the fifth, before reliever Parker Hutyra was able to record the final out of the fifth. Hutyra had an impressive bounce-back outing, pitching three innings and allowing just one hit. The freshman struck out four.
Â
The game remained 7-2 until the eighth when the Red Raiders with two outs strung together three straight singles from Landon Stripling, Drew Woodcox and Cade McGee. McGee's single brought Tech to within 7-3.
