Tech sweeps Northern Arizona in game one of Red Raider Classic

Borer and Wesley recorded double-doubles in win
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech volleyball team (3-1) swept Northern Arizona (2-2) on Thursday night in the United Supermarkets Arena led by Mia Wesley's 15 kills and 12 digs.
Setter Hanna Borer also recorded a double-double with 31 assists and 12 digs while also adding three kills and a block.
The Red Raiders got of to a slow start in the first set, as they found themselves down 17-12 at one point for rattling off five straight points to tie it and eventually win 25-23.
Set two, Tech did not trail at all and went on to win 25-20 thanks to six kills from Wesley and Brynn Williams.
The Lumberjacks put up a fight in the third set, but Tech was able to pull away late with an 11-6 run as Reagan Leinen helped seal the win with five kills.
Williams and Leinen recorded nine and seven kills, respectively, while Emily Merrick added five of her own. Simone Overbeck and Reagan Engler combined for seven kills to round out the major scorers for the Red Raiders.
Four different players recorded double-digit digs including Maddie Correa (19), Emily Contreras (16), Borer (12) and Wesley (12) while Abby Dickinson came close with eight digs.
NOTABLES:
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Wesley's 12 digs helped her eclipse 1,000 digs in her career.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Reagan Leinen has 21 kills to just one error so far this season.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Tech finished with just 4.0 blocks on the night but recorded a season-high 46 kills and 73 digs.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Correa led the team with 19 digs and is now just 13 digs away from 1,000.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Correa also set a career high for assists in a single match with eight.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Contreras's 16 digs mark a career high for her.
