With just three matches to go in the Big 12 regular season, Texas Tech sits atop the tables in the congested Big 12 standings. The Red Raiders are on 20 points, one point ahead of No. 9/8 TCU who has 19.
Baylor and No. 24/22 WVU sit tied for third place in the Big 12 standings with 18 points, followed by No.22/7 CU who has 17.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:
MATCHUP: No. 5/3 Texas Tech (12-1-2, 6-0-2 Big 12)at Colorado (11-2-3, 5-1-2 Big 12)
DATE: Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025
TIME: 8 p.m. (CT)/7 p.m. (MT)
LOCATION: Boulder, Colo. (Prentup Field) Â
BY THE NUMBERS:
20: Since the start of the 2022 season the Red Raiders have scored 20 times in the first 10 minutes of a match and have at least two matches with a goal in the first 10 minutes in every one of those seasons. After scoring four times in the 2022 season within the first 10 minutes, Tech did it twice in 2023 and five times in 2024. The Red Raiders have scored eight times this season in the first 10 minutes. The Red Raiders have won 13-straight when scoring in the first 10 mins and are 15-0-2 in the 17 matches.
2: While putting the ball in the back of the net is the name of the game, scoring twice has been critical for the Red Raiders success as since the start of the 2022 season, the Red Raiders are now 45-0-1 (lone tie at No. 7 BYU in 2023) when scoring two goals. When you expand that mark out to the beginning of the 2021 season, Tech is 54-2-1 when scoring twice in a match.
32-1-1: In Sunday's win over Arizona, defender Macy Blackburn recorded her 33rd career game with an assist. In those 33 games the Red Raiders are an impressive 32-1-1 with the lone loss coming in heartbreaking fashion in last season's series finale against BYU. The Red Raiders have now won their last 10 overall when Blackburn records an assist and 26 of the last 27 games. Blackburn needs just one helper to tie the all-time program single season mark.
QUICK KICKS:
• With just three matches to go in the Big 12 and regular season, No. 5/3 Texas Tech Soccer heads to Boulder for its first matchup against CU in Boulder since 2010. The match will close a season-long three-match roadswing that began last weekend in Arizona against ASU and UofA.
• Sitting in solo first place with just three matches left in the regular season, the Red Raiders will look to inch closer to the programs second Big 12 Regular Season title in the last three seasons.
• Texas Tech went 8-0-2 in 2023 en route to the programs first Big 12 regular season title.
ª The Red Raiders enter Thursday riding a pair of road conference streaks, as the Red Raiders have won their last nine road Big 12 matches dating back to a scoreless draw in Fort Worth last September and are unbeaten in road Big 12 regular season matches dating back to 2021. Tech's  road unbeaten streak sits at 20 matches (15-0-5) dating back to an Oct. 17, 2011 loss at No. 21 West Virginia.
• This week in the TopDrawer Soccer poll, Texas Tech climbed all the way to No. 3, marking the highest weekly ranking in the TDS poll in program history.
• The Red Raiders also checked in at No. 5 on Tuesday in the United Soccer Coaches poll, marking the first time in program history that the Red Raiders have been ranked inside the top-five of both polls.
• The No. 5 ranking in the USC poll is one off the highest ranking in program history back in 2023.
• Despite conceding the two second half goals in Tempe, goalkeeper Faith Nguyen has recorded six clean sheets in her last seven road Big 12 matches. Nguyen has allowed just eight total goals in 19 career Big 12 matches and has given up just three goals in 10 career Big 12 road contests.
• Nguyen is 14-1-4 overall in those 19 career matches and is 9-0-1 in the nine Big 12 road matches. After her fourth brace of the season (including the game winner at Arizona State), forward Taylor Zdrojewski scored an insurance goal in the win at Arizona.
• The goal was her 13th of the season bringing her into the top-10 of the single season goal list. Zdrojewski now has scored 23 times in her last 37 matches. Her 23 goals are the 10th-most career in program history.
