WACO, Texas – The Texas Tech men's tennis team wrapped up the Big 12/SEC Challenge, competing against top talent from schools like Baylor, Arizona, Texas A&M, Texas and Arizona State.

In singles play, Niksa Arsic picked up a hard-fought victory over Arizona State's Ofek Shimanov, coming back from a set down to win, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3. Arsic continued to show promise throughout the weekend, taking multiple matches to three sets, including a close battle with Baylor's No. 60-ranked Connor Henry Van Schalkwyk. Ludovico Vaccari and Thiago Guglieri also took to the court against some of the nation's top competition, each pushing their opponents into tight matches.

In doubles, the Red Raider duo of Arsic and Guglieri led the way with two victories over the weekend. The pair defeated Baylor's Luc Koenig and Van Schalkwyk in a tiebreaker, 8-7 (4), and followed it with an 8-6 victory over Arizona's Glib Sekachov and Baran Soyler. Both of Baylor's doubles players are ranked nationally with different teammates as Koenig is No. 5 and Van Schalkwyk is No. 28.

The Red Raider pairing's one doubles loss this weekend was against Texas A&M's Tiago Pires and Togan Tokac, with Tokac checking in at No. 6 with another Aggie teammate in the ITA rankings. Vaccari also partnered with Arizona State's Shimanov for an 8-4 win over Lucas Marionneau and Mariano Dedura-Palomero of Texas.

Up next, the Red Raiders head to College Station, Texas for the ITA Texas Regionals on October 15-19.
