
Ambroziak earns Top 10 finish at FAU Invite

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Texas Tech women's golf team closed out the FAU Paradise Invitational on Tuesday tied for seventh place after leading performances from Maja Ambroziak and Klara Hurtova at Osprey Point Golf Course. Alongside Denver, the Red Raiders finished the two-day event 1-over-par (865) following Tuesday's final round of 5-over 293.
Ambroziak led the Red Raiders, tying for 10th place out of the 78 individuals in the field, with a three-round 4-under-par 212. She moved up the leaderboard five spots on the final day behind a 2-under-par 70. It was her season-best round three score as well as her fourth time to finish an event under par during her 2024-25 sophomore campaign. With 11 birdies over 54 holes, Ambroziak tied for the seventh-most birdies in the field and also tied for the second-best average (2.83) in the field for Par 3 scoring.
Hurtova started the day in a tie for 15th and finished the day in a tie for 15th, claiming her second Top 20 finish of the season and fifth career. She powered her way through the final round, wrapping up with an even-par 72 with a birdie and four straight pars to close Tuesday's final round.
After a pair of solid rounds from the Red Raiders on Monday that left them tied for fifth place at 4-under-par (572), Texas Tech dropped five shots on Tuesday during a day that was navigated through with a fog delay and the course playing to its highest average in round three (74.11) from the 75 counted scores.
The Red Raiders will return to action for their second tournament of the spring season, Feb.24-25, at the Chevron Collegiate in Houston, Texas.
