Team/Event Notes:

The University of Houston is set to host the Valspar Collegiate, an event the school has hosted since the 2013-14 academic year.
Hosted at Floridian National Golf Club, situated near the Atlantic Ocean approximately an hour north of West Palm Beach, calls the Floridian Invitational, Floridian Cup, The Harmon, as well as the Valspar Collegiate, a few of its flagship tournaments.
The Valspar will be the Red Raiders' ninth event of the season and fifth of the spring season. Tech's best team finish this season was placing second (839, -13) at The Prestige in La Quinta, Calif. on Feb. 17-19.
The Red Raiders will be competing in yet again a loaded field of opponents. More than half of the 17 teams in the Valspar field enters the tournament ranked inside the Top 25 while five are inside the Top 10.
Texas Tech rose as high as No. 19 in the Feb. 26 national rankings (Scoreboard). The Red Raiders have been inside the Top 25 each week this spring outside one short stint at No. 26.
- No. 23 (Feb. 12), No. 21 (Feb. 19), No. 19 (Feb. 26), No. 21 (March 5), No. 26 (March 12) and No. 21 (March 19).
The first Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches Poll of the spring was released on Feb. 28. It had Texas Tech ranked No. 18. The second poll was released March 21 with the Red Raiders at No. 22.
Per the most recent PGA Tour University rankings released on March 12, Calum Scott checked in at No. 14 and Charlie DeLong at No. 29. Both Scott and DeLong have been pegged as No. 1 and No. 2 in the Red Raiders' lineup this spring.
