Red Raiders place sixth at Paradise Invitational

BOCA RATON, Fla. — Powered by the second-lowest score in the 16-team field on Wednesday, the Texas Tech women's golf team finished sixth at the Paradise Invitational, hosted by Florida Atlantic at Osprey Point Golf Course.
The Red Raiders shot a 6-under 282 in the final round, second only to Clemson's 7-under 281. It marked Texas Tech's best round of the tournament and was led by junior Maja Ambroziak, who fired a 3-under 69. All four of the Red Raiders' counting scores in the final round were par or better, including freshman Amy Squires (2-under 70), junior Cameron Freund (1-under 71) and senior Lauren Zaretsky (even-par 72).
Individually, Zaretsky paced Texas Tech with a tie for fifth place after finishing at 3-under 213 for the event. It was her second top-five finish of the season and third top-10 result.
Texas Tech returns to action Feb. 9 at the Thunderbird Collegiate, hosted by Arizona at Tucson Country Club.
