No. 16 Tech welcomes Jayhawks for Play4Kay pink game

LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 16 Texas Tech Lady Raiders host the Kansas Jayhawks on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the United Supermarkets Arena. Texas Tech leads the all-time series with Kansas, 27-19, winning two of the last three games. The Lady Raiders last got a win over the Jayhawks in the Big 12 Tournament on March 5, 2025 by a 57-53 score in Kansas City.
The Lady Raiders (22-3, 9-3 Big 12) earned an 85-61 victory over the Houston Cougars at the Fertitta Center on Saturday to push their away record to 7-1 on the season. In the game, Bailey Maupin led the team with 25 points and six rebounds. Jalynn Bristow added 15 points and four blocks, while the Lady Raiders forced a whopping 32 Houston turnovers. This was the first time since Dec. 13, 2023 against Incarnate Word forcing 30+ turnovers in a game.
Texas Tech is averaging 29.6 bench points per game, which is eighth in the nation and first in the Big 12. The Lady Raiders have totaled four games this season with 40+ bench points, with their highest point total coming against Wichita State after recording 49 points off the bench. Tech added six more games to that with 30+ bench points, for a total of 10 games with 30 or more bench points this season. Snudda Collins leads the way as she totals 15.1 points per game, all off the bench. Jada Malone is just behind with 7.4 points per game.
Texas Tech has made six or more 3-pointers over the last 11 games, tallying 98 made threes during that span. In Tech's last game at Houston, Tech went 11-for-25 from behind the arc (.440), led by Maupin with a career-best of five. The Lady Raiders tied a season-best of 13 threes against Arizona on Jan. 3. Texas Tech is ranked 26th nationally in three-point percentage (.359) and are making 8.2 three-pointers per game, which is fifth in the Big 12.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
The Kansas Jayhawks are 15-10 overall and 5-8 in Big 12 play. The Jayhawks have key wins over Cincinnati, BYU, Kansas State, Arizona and UCF. Their most recent losses were against Colorado, TCU and Arizona State. Kansas is averaging 73.8 points per game and holding opponents to 66.0 points per game. Shooting 48.2 percent from the field and 39.5 percent from behind the arc, the Jayhawks are also averaging 15.2 assists per game and 34.7 rebounds per game. Kansas is led in scoring by Jaliya Davis (21.9ppg) and S'mya Nichols (18.0ppg). On the rebounding side, Lilly Meister leads the team with 6.6 per game followed by Davis with 6.4.
