No. 10 Texas Tech finishes 10th at Pauma Valley Invitational

PAUMA VALLEY, Calif. — No. 10 Texas Tech wrapped up play at the Pauma Valley Invitational on Wednesday, finishing 10th at 3-over 855 after 54 holes at Pauma Valley Country Club.
The Red Raiders shot a 3-over 287 in the final round, slipping one spot from ninth to 10th in the team standings.
Freshman Brady McHenry led Texas Tech for the first time this season, finishing tied for 22nd at 1-under 212. The California native opened with a 1-under 70 on Monday and followed with back-to-back even-par 71s to close the tournament in his home state.
Connor Graham finished tied for 41st at 2-over 215 and posted the Red Raiders' low round on Wednesday with a 2-under 69 — Texas Tech's only under-par score in the final round. Graham entered the day tied for 56th and made up ground, but finished outside the top 20 for the first time this season in eight events.
Simon Hovdal contributed one of Texas Tech's counting scores Wednesday with a 1-over 72, while Tim Wiedemeyer added the fourth, a 4-over 75. Wiedemeyer finished the Pauma Valley Invitational tied for 48th at 3-over 216, while Hovdal tied for 71st at 7-over 220.
Adam Bresnu carded a 5-over 76 in the final round and finished tied for 57th at 4-over 217 after starting the day tied for 20th. The tournament marked Bresnu's first finish outside the top 20 in eight events as a Red Raider.
No. 20 Georgia Tech and No. 15 Tennessee shared the team title at 16-under 836, besting 14 others.Â
Texas Tech returns to action March 23-24 at the Valspar Collegiate Invitational in Palm City, Florida, at Floridian National Golf Club.
