- Threw six innings in Texas Tech's March 25, extra-inning victory over Texas. He allowed one run in the start, surrendering a leadoff home run to the game's first batter and proceeded to settle down to strike out seven and keep the Longhorns off the board for the remainder of his outing to put the team in a position to win, 5-4.
- April 11 Big 12 Newcomer of the Week recap:
- Tossed seven innings, striking out nine without a walk as he picked up a win against Kansas State on April 8. He allowed three runs on six hits, but it was more than enough for a 6-3 victory.
