NCAA CONVENTION
One of 15 student-athletes nationwide selected to attend and vote at each of the past two NCAA Conventions ... represents one of three Big 12 student-athletes to represent the conference ... able to vote and discuss national issues with administrators from across the country during autonomy session ... attended the 2014 NCAA Convention in Washington D.C. and the 2015 event held in San Antonio, Texas ... the 2014 convention was best known for establishing cost of attendance measures for student-athletes ... was the first student-athlete to ever address the convention in 2014 ... helped pass legislation at 2015 convention that will allow high school baseball players to utilize agents when negotiating with major league franchises.
SENIOR SEASON (2017)
Played in 14 games, making one start in his final season in the scarlet & black ... recorded a .364 average at the plate, tallying four hits in 11 at-bats ... notched four RBI and picked up three free passes with two walks ... posted an RBI triple against Baylor on April 9 ... also had hits at Wichita State (3/24), at Kansas State (4/13) and at the Big 12 Tournament against West Virginia ... recorded a two-RBI knock against the Mountaineers in the contest.
JUNIOR SEASON (2016)
Made 20 appearances in this third year with the Red Raiders, starting two … member of the 2016 Big 12 Championship winning team … helped Texas Tech clinch its second College World Series berth in three years … hit .286 over 21 at-bats … recorded six hits, including one triple, with three RBI and two runs scored … also added five walks … produced one three-hit game … went 3-for-3 against Oklahoma on May 27, with one triple and a walk … hit .429 over his last five games played in 2016 with a .714 slugging percentage and .500 OBP … produced three hits, one triple, two RBI and two runs scored over that stretch … IN BIG 12 PLAY … put down one hit in six at-bats during conference action … also added a walk … NON-BIG 12 GAMES … hit .333 in non-conference play … also had a .457 slugging percentage and .450 on-base percentage … put down five hits, including one triple, four walks with three RBI and two runs … ROAD/NEUTRAL SITE GAMES … put together a .455/.636/.588 line in games away from Lubbock … only failed to reach base once in 11 at-bats, tallying five hits and five walks … one of his hits was a triple … tallied three RBI and two runs scored … BIG 12 TOURNAMENT … led the team with a .500/.833/.556 line in two starts at the Big 12 Tournament … tallied three hits, one triple, two walks, two RBI and two runs scored … AGAINST NATIONALLY RANKED OPPONENTS ... put together a .286 batting average with two hits, one walk and one RBI against ranked foes … SITUATIONAL … hit .455 with runners on base, which included five hits in 11 at-bats … was even better with runners in scoring position at .571, recording four hits … was successful advancing a runner 53.8 percent of the time.

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2015)
Appeared in 24 games while making seven starts ... six of his starts came as the designated hitter ... lone other start came in right field ... hit .295 overall (13-for-44) with two doubles, five RBI, three walks, a stolen base and eight runs scored ... posted a .341 slugging percentage and .340 on-base percentage ... recorded one error in six fielding chances ... AGAINST NATIONALLY RANKED OPPONENTS ... appeared in seven games against top-25 foes (two starts) ... batted .231 overall (3-for-13) ... all three hits were singles ... Anthony Dwain Lyons ... born in Arlington, Texas ... son of Anthony, Sr. and Kathleen Lyons ... has a younger sister, Jasmine ... father, Anthony, Sr., played football at UT Arlington ... uncle, Kenneth Lyons, is arguably the greatest men's basketball player in North Texas history ... holds career, season and game scoring records at UNT while averaging 21 points and nine rebounds per game and is the school's only two-time All-American during a standout career (1980-83) ... was a second round NBA Draft selection by the Philadelphia 76ers in 1983 ... an accounting major at Texas Tech.
