Kader Tapsoba graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in computer science in May and is currently working towards a master's degree while he completes his eligibility.
SUMMER 2013 -- Spent the summer playing for the Burkina Faso National Team ... played in four exhibition games leading up to the 2013 FIBA African Championships ... played in five games at the African Championships, starting four ... averaged 5.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.6 blocks per game in tournament play ... had 13 points and seven rebounds against Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) ... finished fifth on the team in scoring and second in rebounding for Burkina Faso at the Afircan Championships.
JUNIOR (2012-13) -- Named First Team Academic All-Big 12 ... ... appeared in 27 of 31 games ... notched his first career start against West Virginia ... recorded a season-high eight points, three rebounds and three blocks against Florida A&M ... notched four points against Prairie View ... pulled down a season-best six boards against Grambling State ... had two points, three rebounds and two steals against Jackson State ... chipped in seven points and two boards against Arizona ... added five points in six minutes against Alabama ... notched six points and three rebounds in seven minutes against North Carolina A&T ... added three points and five rebounds in a season-high 19 minutes against Baylor ... recorded five points against Oklahoma State ... added four points and three rebounds at West Virginia ... closed out the season converting 17 of 22 free throw attempts (77.3 percent) ... shot 73.3 percent from the field in limited action ... scored in 18 of 27 games.
REDSHIRT JUNIOR (2011-12) -- Received a medical redshirt after suffering a leg injury prior to last season ... named the the Big 12 Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for the fall and spring semesters ... named to the 2011-12 Texas Tech University Dean's List.
PRIOR TO TEXAS TECH -- Averaged 6.7 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game as a sophomore at Tyler Junior College ... recorded a career-high 17 rebounds against Pulaski Technical College ... had 10 career double digit rebounding performances at Tyler Junior College ... recorded seven double-doubles as a sophomore for the Apaches ... shot 67 percent from the field ... was also named a 2010 NJCAA Distinguished Academic All-American for his performance in the classroom ... played on the Burkina Faso U20 National Team ... also recruited by Northwestern, Washington State and California.
