Bio
Former Red Raider volleyball standout Karlyn Meyers joined the Texas Tech Athletics Department in September 2013 as an assistant strength and conditioning coach.
In this role, she works with the volleyball, women[apos]s basketball, softball, and Texas Tech[apos]s spirit squads. Meyers previously served as a graduate assistant with the strength and conditioning program before being hired to a full-time position.
The China Spring, Texas native joined the strength and conditioning staff after completing a successful four seasons as Texas Tech[apos]s primary setter on the volleyball program. She currently ranks sixth in Texas Tech history with 2,908 career assists from the 2008-11 seasons. Her 7.90 assists per set average also ranks seventh all-time in the career almanac as well.
In addition to her success on the court, Meyers was also highly successful in the classroom as she was a three-time Academic All-Big 12 first team selection and was a regular on the Texas Tech Dean[apos]s and President[apos]s Lists.
Meyers earned her bachelor[apos]s degree in exercise sports science in the fall of 2011 and then completed her masters in health, exercise and sports sciences with a concentration in strength and conditioning in the summer of 2013.
She is certified with the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Meyers brother, Kyal, is currently a pole vaulter on the Texas Tech men[apos]s track and field team. She enjoys outdoor activities, traveling, cooking, and reading.
