Lady Raiders hit five-straight 3-pointers in third quarter swing
MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Texas Tech Lady Raiders' Big 12 win streak was snapped Saturday night in a 68-54 loss to No. 25/RV Kansas State.
Texas Tech (10-5, 2-2 Big 12) battled back-and-forth with Kansas State (12-4, 2-2 Big 12) throughout the entire first half with two lead changes and the scored knotted up five times.
The Lady Raiders outscored K-State 21-19 coming out of the half. Buckets started falling for Tech when junior Dayo Olabode hit back-to-back-to-back threes just before junior Larryn Brooks hit the Lady Raiders' fifth straight 3-pointer in 3:52 minutes of action.
But K-State responded to maintain the lead for the rest of the game.
Freshman Arella Guirantes was the only Lady Raiders to score in double figures. Tonight's game was only the second time this season the Lady Raiders have had less than two players score 10+ points. Guirantes tallied 10 points for her 10th double-digit game of the season.
Junior Dayo Olabode followed nine points and six rebounds. Olabode scored three straight from beyond the arc in the third quarter.
