Texas Tech hosts its first home meet of the 2017 season at the Terry and Linda Fuller Track & Field Complex.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Red Raider track & field is set to host Baylor, Nebraska and Wichita State in the Red Raider Shootout tomorrow, April 28 and the Terry and Linda Fuller Track & Field Stadium.
The meet is set to start with the women's javelin at 2 p.m. All throwing events will take place at the throwing field, located at 2903 4th street.
The running events will begin with the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase at 6 p.m. At the conclusion of the steeplechase, the 12 track & field seniors will be honored on the infield.
Admission to the Red Raider Shootout is free for all fans and the clear bag policy is in effect.Â
RESULTS
Meet results will be provided by the South Plains Track Officials (SPATO) at www.spato.us/ttu/2017/. GoVision will also be providing a video board for all fans and spectators to get instant results on-site.

PARKING INFORMATION
Parking for the Red Raider Shootout will be available to fans and spectators in lots C1 and C4. Texas Tech baseball will be competing against TCU beginning at 7 p.m. so fans are encouraged to arrive early to secure a parking spot.

SENIOR AWARDS
Kyle Collins, Jocelyn Caro, Benard Keter, Viershanie Latham, Alexis Lewis, Maggy Mulholland, Amani Nesmith, Adria Parker, Michael Samuels, JW Smith, Reece Timmons and Blake Wood will be honored at the Red Raider Shootout this weekend for their contribution to the Texas Tech track & field team.

TOPPING THE RANKS
Texas Tech has eight performances ranked top-10 in the nation and seventeen with top-25 NCAA marks. On the women's side, Viershanie Latham and Zarriea Willis take charge with their third and fifteenth-place rankings respectively in the women's triple jump and high jump. Latham   notched a new leading moderately-windy mark of 13.67m/44-10.25 at the Michael Johnson Invitational in Waco. Leading the men in the top-10 spots are: Charles Brown, Trey Culver, 4x400 relay (Kyle Collins, Steven Champlin, C.J. Jones, Vincent Crisp), Benard Keter, Justin Hall and Divine Oduduru.

Divine Oduduru swiped a first-place 100-meter dash finish, clocking a 10.10 (+3.0w) run. This currently sits in the No. 8 spot in the nation. Trey Culver pushed to remain undefeated in the men's high jump this season, completing his third first-place finish at a stadium record 2.23m/7-3.75 bar. For the second week in a row, Viershanie Latham has notched a new wind-aided all-time school record in the women's triple jump with her 13.67m/44-10.25 (+3.3w) leap. This tops her 13.61m/44-7.50 (+3.0w) mark from the Horned Frog Invitational. Reece Timmons had a lifetime-best performance in the women's pole vault clearing 4.06m/13-3.75

The Texas Tech men grabbed their third-consecutive top-10 ranking, moving up four spots from No. 8 to No. 4. The highest ranking amongst the men is held by Charles Brown, who is in the only long jumper thus far in the NCAA to clear over 27-feet at a moderately-windy 8.25m/27-0.75 earning him the national lead. Brown is first in the world in the wind-aided marks for his jump of 8.30m/27-2.75. Sitting in a No. 2 overall, and No. 1 west qualifying rank is high jumper Trey Culver. The junior cleared 2.24m/7-4.25 at Texas Relays to take his first meet crown on the Mike A. Myers Stadium track. The men's 4x400 relay, headed by Kyle Collins, Steven Champlin, Charles Jones and Vincent Crisp, ran a 3:03.28 in Austin, Texas, which currently ranks fourth in the NCAA. Benard Keter claimed his No. 5 ranked seat in his first performance of the season at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, California where he ran an 8:43.05 3,000-meter steeplechase. An 8.01m/26-3.50mw long jump from Justin Hall notched a lifetime best and No. 5 nationally ranked mark. Men's javelin is headed by freshman Werner Bouwer who has achieved a No. 11 nationally ranked mark of 72.16m/236-9 at the UTSA Invitational. Divine Oduduru has started strong for the Red Raiders with three ranked performances in the first two meets he has competed in. This past weekend at the Michael Johnson Invitational, Oduduru took the win in the men's 100-meter dash with his moderately-windy 10.10 run, ranked eighth in the NCAA. In Waco, Texas, Oduduru also ran the men's 200-meter dash, where he clocked his No. 11 west outdoor qualifying mark of 20.62.
