Hudson Records All-Time Best Run

Sophomore Andrew Hudson notches new 200-meter dash school record.
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Red Raiders completed the last day of the WT Classic & Multis and Sun Angel classic with nine personal records.
Sprinter Andrew Hudson claimed a 20.43 school record 200-meter run. The previous record was created by Trevor Mackey in 2014 at the NACAC U-23 Championships.
New personal records were created in the men's 800-meter run with C.J. Jones and Vincent Crisp clocking times of 1:46.70 and 1:47.66 respectively. Both Jones and Crisp replaced their previous personal records set at the Michael Johnson Invitational last year.
Zarriea Willis scooped up her second outdoor high jump title at 1.80m/5-10.75. This personal-best outdoor mark was set last weekend at the Texas Relays and matched again this afternoon in Tempe.
Second place in the men's 400-meter premiere section was achieved by Kyle Collins who clocked a run of 45.79. This mark ranks sixth nationally and second in conference.
Werner Bouwer also achieved his second win in the javelin throw this outdoor season with a best throw of 71.45m/234-5.
Following Bouwer in second was Ivan Santiago-Bravo, throwing a mark of 61.72m/202-6 and Hunter Hopkins in seventh at 56.87m/186-7.
Crystal Onwukaife and Happiness Okeke both finished second in the women's discus and shot put. Onwukaife was the last thrower of the night 15.19m/49-10. Okeke's best discus mark was measured at 48.07m/157-8.
Trevin Chambers also recorded a first place finish in the men's 200-meter dash with his time of 21.31.
Next weekend the Red Raiders will head to the Horned Frog Invitational in Fort Worth, Texas, on April 15.
