AUSTIN, Texas  – The Texas Tech Lady Raider basketball team fell, 92-66, to Texas on Wednesday night at the Frank Erwin Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lady Raiders (12-3, 1-3 Big 12) were led by three double-digit scorers in Brittany Brewer, Chrislyn Carr and Alexis Tucker. Brewer and Carr led the way with 16 points. Brewer also added seven rebounds and a pair of blocks. Tucker scored 13 and recorded four rebounds.

After a slow start to the first quarter where the Lady Raiders found themselves in a seven-point hole, Tech used an 11-point run to take its first lead of the night. The Lady Raiders led it, 19-15, with 2:59 to go. A late Longhorn push would give Texas the lead after the first 10 minutes, however, despite eight points from Chrislyn Carr, along with six points four rebounds and a pair of blocks from Brittany Brewer in the opening frame.

Texas would push their lead to 47-31 at the halftime break, after outscoring Tech, 25-12, in the second quarter.

Texas Tech was unable to gain any momentum over the final half, as the Longhorns finished off the 92-66 win.

The Lady Raiders will wrap up their two-game road trip on Saturday when they head to Lawrence, Kansas to face the Jayhawks. Tip is set for Saturday at 5 p.m.
