ABOUT THE LADY RAIDERS
Coming off a couple of tough losses to K-State and Texas, the Lady Raiders look to get back on track in Lawrence. Led by five players averaging double-figure scoring, Texas Tech is 12-3 heading into the fourth game of conference play, which marks the team's best 15-game start in seven seasons.
Senior Brittany Brewer leads Texas Tech, not only the national leader in blocks with 76 so far this season, but also the team leader in scoring (15.9 ppg) and rebounding (10.3 rpg). Reigning Big 12 Freshman of the Year Chrislyn Carr has been big for Tech as well in her sophomore season, having scored double digits in 12 of her last 13 appearances. UConn transfer Lexi Gordon has been a nice addition through seven games, tallying off a 15-point, 15-rebound double-double at TCU last week. Big 12 Freshman of the Week Alexis Tucker has been one of the best freshmen in the country this season as well.
EYEING THE OPPONENT
The Kansas Jayhawks (11-4, 0-4 Big 12) come into Saturday's contest looking to break a four-game skid following an 11-0 start. Most recently, the Jayhawks dropped a 90-47 home bout to No. 1/2 Baylor. Kansas has six players averaging in double figures this season, led by Brooklyn Mitchell at 12.3 points per game. They also have five players averaging fove or more rebounds per game, led by Tina Stephens at 7.3 points per game. Head coach Brandon Schneider is in his fifth season leading the Jayhawks.
