Second-year Lady Raider head coach Marlene Stollings boasts a deep team. Led by Brittany Brewer, who ranks second in the nation in blocks and is averaging a double-double, and 2019 Big 12 Freshman of the Year Chrislyn Carr, Texas Tech has already experienced plenty of success in 2020 which the team will look to build on over the final month of the season. The Lady Raiders finished the nonconference schedule undefeated for the first time in eight seasons at 11-0. Additionally, led by 29 points from Andrayah Adams, Tech picked up its first overtime win in four years last month, knocking off Big 12 foe Oklahoma.
EYEING THE OPPONENT
The West Virginia Mountaineers (14-8, 4-7 Big 12) enter Saturday's showdown with the Lady Raiders looking to snap a three-game skid in which they've dropped tight games to Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Kansas State. West Virginia is led by Kysre Gondrezick and Tynice Martin, who both rank in the top 10 of the Big 12 in scoring at 16.1 and 15.8 points per game, respectively. Kari Niblack ranks fourth in the Big 12 shot blocking, averaging two rejections per game. As a team, the Mountaineers are a strong defensive squad ranking second in the Big 12 in scoring defense. Head coach Mike Carey is in his 19th season at the helm of the Mountaineer program.
